The Fun Side

For the first day being home with Peanut and not having to fret about school, this was a pretty relaxing day, though I know it’s not over yet and I am sure there is drama around the corner for me somehow.

If you haven’t noticed at the top of my blog, there is a new page. I had contemplated putting up a creative page for a long time. Primarily because I don’t get to be so creative anymore. My days are filled with SEO, sales letters, blog posts, website content and other stuff that dries out my brain before it has a chance to even get energized.

Don’t misunderstand me, I do love what I do. I can’t believe I am actually doing it. One of my clients sent me a project today that is right up my alley and well within my niche, so it pleases me to be able to do what I do… but sometimes… we as writers know… there is a fun side of us begging to get out (probably why many of us are bloggers too).

I couldn’t resist the notion of having a "fun side" to show all of you. So I created the creative page. It’s a place where you can see my attempts at poetry from the creative writing class I took in last fall. I had a blast in the class and it forced me to look at things in my writing I hadn’t considered before.

I hope you enjoy reading what I post, I will try to update it weekly and who knows, maybe provide some new content for it!

Love the new page! Just today I was listening to some podcasted short stories and missing creative writing, as if it was gone forever. It’s funny how quickly I’ve become hardwired to think of freelancing stuff before anything else!
